Some call it the ‘wood-wide web’. Trees are connected to each other through underground fungal networks called mycelium. Through the mycelium, trees can communicate with each other and share water and nutrients.

Did you know Mushrooms can save the world?

Mycelium also has endless potential in helping us live more sustainably.

To date, inventors have been able to use mycelium as a substitute for plastic (e.g. Ecovative), leather (e.g. Mylo) and meat (e.g. Meati).

What is Mushroom Mob?

Mushroom Mob was created by a registered clinician (Audrey) and software engineer (Johnny). They saw potential in NFT technology to raise awareness of mental health issues and improve access to health promotion resources and support.

The project uses the mycelium metaphor of a tight-knit, action-packed community. It offers a new model to the NFT space by incentivising the community to engage in health-promoting behaviors with ADA and Cardano NFTs. Holders gain access to free online workshops which promote mental wellbeing using a multidisciplinary approach (e.g. psychology, nutrition, exercise).

The Mushroom Mob characters are also a reminder of the important role fungi play in sustaining our ecosystems.

15% of proceeds generated from Mushroom Mob NFTs will be donated to organizations that research ways to conserve fungi and use them to improve mental health therapies.

How it was Minted?

The Mushroom Mob NFT collection is being minted using the NFT minting service NFT Maker.io

Currently they have three collection releases planned, and have created a total of 10,000 pixelated mushrooms.
